1. Install a CD ripper and a PSP video converter into your PC. You can get the installer files from a friend who had done this before or you can download the programs from the Internet. A CD ripper allows you to grab music off your CDs. The PSP video converter lets you grab and convert video so you can watch them on your PSP. If you get both these programs, you can both listen to music and watch videos on your PSP.

2. Choose a CD with music files in them and load it into your PC. Run the CD ripper program and from there, choose the songs you want to stuff into your PSP. Select "extract and encode" to PSP or a similar command. If you already have a stash of music files in your PC, either ripped earlier or transferred there, all you need to do is click "add" in the CD ripper program. Ripping is a file conversion process. So the same idea applies to converting videos as well.

3. Make sure that all of the files you chose you selected "PSP" format. Otherwise, all your strutting is pointless, because your PSP won't be able the files. This part is a crucial step in how to download music to PSP. Do not overlook it.
